Matthew Duke is a venture capitalist and attorney based in San Antonio, Texas. With over 15 years of experience in healthcare, law, and business, he has dedicated his career to supporting and empowering innovation for startups and in particular those in the social determinants of health sector.
As the CEO of ReHealth Enterprises and Duke Capital, Matthew focuses on investing in startups that are working to address social issues related to health. Duke Capital created and leverages the Social Innovation Impact (SI2) Ecosystem to invest in startups that are creating innovative solutions to improve health equity. He believes in providing immediate impact to South Texas by supporting startups that are creating innovative solutions that can be used to improve the quality of life for South Texas residents.
Before venturing into the startup ecosystem, Matthew worked as a Senior Counsel and later as the System Senior Vice President of Operations at Methodist Healthcare System (the Largest Healthcare System in South Texas) where he was responsible for the consistent and effective execution of the operations of the nine hospital system. He partnered with executive leadership to enhance and improve key systems, including strategy, patient satisfaction, data utilization, and performance analysis and review across the healthcare system to dramatically improve healthcare and quality outcomes.
In his role as Managing Attorney at The South Texas Business Lawyers, Matthew leads a team of experienced attorneys who are dedicated to providing personalized legal support to SMBs and startups across various industries. The team has a wide range of expertise and specializes in various industries, including healthcare, hospitality, real estate, and technology. They provide practical solutions to legal problems, enabling businesses to focus on growth and success.
