Tax, Policy and Retirement Planning Opportunities that Angels find Heavenly – but the Devil is in the Details
Description

An understanding of regulations regarding early-stage investments and incentives that are available are often a mystery to both entrepreneurs and investors, but something that is critical to achieve success.  During this session our panel will explore policy issues, tax rules and tools available for investing, including

·      How common investment structures (SPVs, funds) affect your tax outcomes and what to watch for before you write a check.

·      Key tax tools for angels, including QSBS, IRC Section 1244 and 1045

·      Self-Directed IRAs and how they can be effectively used as sources of capital;

·      Recordkeeping basics that make exits smoother — what to track from the first check to the final distribution.

·      ACA’s Public Policy efforts that will continue to impact change moving forward.

These are critical elements that entrepreneurs and investors in the early-stage space need to understand, and this session will help unwind the maze.
