This session aims to provide a high-level overview of impact investing, its relevance and its application in early-stage startups.  Topics include the different definitions of impact investing and the reasons why it matters.  We will also discuss frameworks and tools to assess and measure potential impact and ways to incorporate these into managing your investment portfolio.  Attendees will gain a deeper understanding or how angel investors can use their financial power to do good while doing well, generating a compelling financial return.

• Learn what Impact Investing really is all about.
• Discover how investing in companies founded and/or lead by minority leaders (women, people of color, and other minorities) will accelerate positive change the world and also is a great way to lead to a potentially greater financial return.
• Explore Impact Measurement: Can you do impact investing without impact measurement?  How can an investor measure the impact of her investments? How does this work with startups?
• Learn ways to balance investing for both potential return and impact.
