As the co-founder of Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic and founder of Keiretsu Forum South-East, Mr. Lubert has played a crucial role in growing the East Coast region of the world's largest angel investor network. Over the past 12 years, members of these regions have invested more than $100 million in early-stage portfolio companies, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to supporting the next generation of startups.
Howard championed the establishment of the Rowan Innovation Venture Fund, a progressive and visionary evergreen fund designed to ignite ingenuity and business acumen in the up-and-coming innovators of Rowan University and South Jersey. For half a decade, Howard presided over the growth and success of this venture, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his multifaceted career as an entrepreneur, private equity and angel investor, teacher and advocate of mentorship.
Howard founded the Accelerator Venture Partners family of funds in 2020 as a vehicle to help active angel investors quickly diversify their portfolios. The FastTrak Funds were designed as “first money in” investments designed to kick start the funding process and take advantage of the superior ROI offered in most of the Term Sheets created as part of the due diligence done at Keiretsu Forum Mid-Atlantic and South-East.
Howard is an accredited angel investor, and angel group leader who brought his experience from Safeguard Scientifics to Keiretsu Forum 12+ years ago. He is a recognized authority on Term Sheets, alternative investment methodologies, and building innovation ecosystems.
An expert in technical due diligence, business acceleration, and turn-around business consulting, he got his early training in technology at IBM. He holds a BA in Psychology from Moravian College, an MA in School Psychology from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) and received his PhD in Business Administration from Hamilton University in 2007. He has extensive teaching and speaking experience in both the technical and private equity areas. He was involved in the development of the Novell Certified Network Engineer (CNE) program, recognized as the first certification program for the networking industry and taught and certified thousands of network engineers. At Keiretsu Forum, Howard regularly teaches workshops to entrepreneurs and investors including the Keiretsu Forum Due Diligence Workshop, a half-day deep dive into the most renowned due diligence process in the industry.
As a seasoned entrepreneur, Howard has spent numerous years sharing his expertise as an Entrepreneur in Residence at both Temple and West Chester Universities. With a passion for teaching, he has imparted his knowledge onto MBA and undergraduate students for over 5 years at the Fox School of Business at Temple University.
